Ephraim Ehiasotie Itaman

Rev. Fr. Ephraim Ehiasotie Itaman, JP, born on April 29, 1990, in Issele-Uku, Delta State, is a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Benin City. He is the fourth of six children in the family of Engr. and Mrs. P. O. Itaman.

Introduction

Fr. Ephraim began his journey toward the priesthood at a young age when he enrolled at St. Paul Minor Seminary, Benin City. His Christian and intellectual formation continued at St. John of the Cross Spiritual Year Seminary and the Seminary of All Saints, Ekpoma, where he undertook his philosophical and theological studies.

Over the years, he has served in several pastoral and administrative capacities, including Assistant Parish Priest, Priest-in-Charge, and Personal Secretary to the Archbishop of Benin City. He is also a published author, a Jordan Pilgrim, and currently a medical student dedicated to merging pastoral care with healthcare.

Education

Fr. Ephraim had his secondary education at St. Paul Minor Seminary, Airport Road, Benin City, from 2002 to 2008. He was admitted into St. John of the Cross Spiritual Year Seminary on October 31, 2008, which marked the formal beginning of his journey into priestly formation.

He continued his training at the Seminary of All Saints, Ekpoma, where he completed both philosophical and theological studies. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy in 2014 through the affiliation of the Seminary with the University of Benin, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology in 2018 through its affiliation with the Pontifical Urban University, Rome.

In preparation for the sacred ministry, he was admitted to candidacy for Holy Orders on January 25, 2016. He was installed as a lector on June 1, 2016, and later installed as an acolyte on May 28, 2017. He was ordained a deacon on December 16, 2017, and eventually ordained a priest on August 18, 2018.

He is currently pursuing a Degree in Medicine and Surgery at Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, further broadening his capacity to serve humanity through both spiritual and physical healing.
